In 1934 Jack and Ella Osborn (the Osborn family had a farm out from Yaninee) married, and set up "home" on their scrub block out at Pordia, southwest of Wudinna....

Their first house, out on the mallee scrub and sandhill country of Section 10 Pordia, was of true pioneering stuff, being flattened out fuel cans and native pine and brush and a bit of corrugated iron. They stuck it out for about three years before giving up on it and moving in to Wudinna.
