The large Salt Lake north of Minnipa - mostly dry and hard-crusted with salt - was a favourite spot for some recreation. I spent some great days out there myself as a kid in the early '50s, and again with my own young family in the mid '60s. It had a wonderful sense of space, and Nature, something that Dad was always keen to capture...
